Take me out to the ball game

Lindsey and I went to a Florida Marlins baseball game last night. It was a 'scout' night for the area. What they do is offer discount tickets to the scouts in the area, and after the game, they let all the scouts on the field and let them sleep overnight on the field with thier drunk scout leaders! They even play a movie on the big screens over the field. Lindsey and I were there with a few people from our ward, including some young men. We had some good seats, it was a good night out and the best part about it was the tickets were free. We actually left in the bottom of the eighth inning, because the sister who gave us a ride to the game had some cotton candy and then her upper lip swelled up like crazy. So she needed to get home for some benedryl. Here are some pictures of our night.

Now for all you baseball fans, the Marlins were playing the Reds and everyone was hoping that Ken Griffey Jr. would hit number 600. It didn't happen but there sure was some excitement everytime he was due up. His best chance came in the 4th inning with bases loased, he didn't go long but he hit the gap in left center. The most impressive player I saw last night was the rookie Jay Bruce. Man that guy can hit, his batting average climbed to .450 last night. He is really good.

I love baseball games. There's nothing more American than baseball. We too attended a Memphis Redbirds game last night. We got cotton candy for the kids, but luckily we didn't have any swollen lips. Glad you had fun!

Call me crazy but I could go to a baseball game once a week. I'm jealous that you live close to a pro team. Looks and sounds like you had fun. Too bad you had to leave early though. Sounds like you had a pretty good reason to though.
