"The Grass is Always Greener"

After several converstions with family, and reading many of your posts, it seems to me that many of you are cold and have seen enough snow. Well, for someone who doesn't live the "west" we are very jealous of your bitterly cold weather and snow!! We have found that we miss winter believe it or not. We don't get any of that white stuff down here in Florida. For instance, the past two months have seen nothing but 70's and low 80's with an ocean breeze. Believe it or not we would love to back west for this crazy winter. However, for those of you who think we sound crazy and would like to trade places, here is picture of what the beach looked like last week.

That looks so relaxing. Is this close to your house? It's not even that cold in Memphis (compared to our Utah fam) but that still looks very tempting.

I used to think I'd miss the winter too, but man after this one- I'm bookin a flight to that and never looking back! But not really, darn it.

I have to agree--living in Hawaii I miss winter too. We can actually see the beach from our lanai (not that we actually go there much), but I really would love a couple really cold days where I have to wear a coat and a sweater and want to stay inside and eat hot soup. I also find myself forgetting what time of year it is...all last week I kept trying to write the date as August.

Nicole,

The beach is very close to our house....which doesn't mean we go there all that often. However, South Beach and Key Biscayne are 20 min. away. While Naples is on the other side of Florida and about 2hrs away. The Florida Keys (which we haven't been to yet) are only 1hr away. But like I said, we have only been a couple times. And to agree with Mindy, you never know what time of year it is.

Hope we have as much snow for you the beginning of next winter while Tom's doing his internship. We'll even let you snowblow!
