Ethan

Ethan is 6 months old. He is 27.75inches long and 17 lbs 13 oz. (Liam wasn't this big until he was 10 months.) We sure love this little guy. He is easy going, and happy all the time. He just started to crawl and is eating solids, and very pleased with himself about both. We finally blessed him. All of the grandparents wanted to be here for his blessing so we decided to wait and do it over Christmas. It is always nice to have family around for these special occasions.

Ethan's 4 month check-up

LIAM FINALLY HELD ETHAN!! (He's signing all done, and it had only been a second)

Ethan is getting so big. He's the happiest baby. He's only really mad when he's been ignored for too long. He wants everything in sight and wants to eat what we eat. He drools like crazy, the doctor says he's teething (but he said that at 2 months). He's a growing boy. He weighed in at 16 1/2 lbs (70th percentile) and is 27 1/2 inches tall (97th percentile).
I gave Liam his first glass of eggnog and he came over to me and told me, "mom this milk mmmmm dawicious!" It was super cute. Now if he only thought that about the things I make him to eat....

Thanksgiving and Leaves

We had a great Thanksgiving! Our good friends, Rob and Sharon came over with their two girls. Lily is the same age as Liam, and those two can move. I don't think they held still for more than 2 minutes the entire day. I don't think they ate a decent meal between the two of them. Liam did inform me that the Jell-O was "dewicious", not that he would know, he only had one bite.

The most exciting part of the day, for Liam, was when I turned on "Mo" (Finding Nemo) in our bedroom, so the rest of us could watch football. Lily liked the raspberries so much she decided to wear them on her forehead.

We had the first freeze of the year Thanksgiving night. Apparently, "leaves from trees" are the most awesome things in the world. I haven't been able to get Liam to the car in under 5 minutes in what seems like forever. He likes to kick leaves, roll in leaves, jump in leaves, and, of course, throw leaves. We had fun.

Ethan likes leaves too.

CHEESE!!!

We took 37 pictures in the last month with our old camera, less than half of those were usable, and, maybe, 8 were really good. So, we finally caved and bought a new camera. We got it today and in the last 2 hours we have taken 33 pictures- and they all turned out!!!! So expect more posts!

Random

I'm like the energizer bunny. I keep posting and posting. I should have done my first post last, and this post first because they are all out of order now. Oh, well. Keep scrolling after this, you are in for a picture/post overload.
Ethan loves to be swaddled. He can be so mad and as soon as his arms are held down he is fine. I took this today. Isn't he cute?

These are a couple of cave pictures. We went back when my parents were here. Liam still thinks they are fun. We went to the bat flight too, but we're not allowed to take pictures.

In the last month or two Liam has discovered climbing and jumping. We probably shouldn't encourage him the way we do, but he is so proud of himself.. I know I need to see what he is doing when I hear, " Jump High" coming from his mouth. The kid is fearless and will jump onto, or off of anything. Lately he has been getting up on the coffee table and saying, "jump high dad" or "jump high couch" It's his way of telling us whether or not we need to catch him. Papa says if we can get him through 2 he'll be alright. I'm worried he won't make it. In one day he had a line on his face from running into the wall, a giant goose egg on the back of his head from falling backwards in his highchair, and a goose egg on his forehead from who knows where. So if he is jumping onto something soft we are all for it. I think he jumps really well for a two year old.

Like I said keep reading. I've been catching up.

Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta

Make sure you keep reading after this post, I'm catching up and I've done a couple of posts already!!!
We had a great time at the Fiesta. We got up before the crack of dawn and by the end we were all ready for a nap. Some of us were ready before others. It's such a fun thing to go to. They launch approx. 600 balloons. All you can see in any direction is balloons, it is so cool! We took a lot of pictures.

Ethan is such a happy kid, even when he doesn't get a good night's sleep.

Does this picture look familiar to anyone else? The only difference is that Liam isn't screaming this year. He really does love the balloons. A few days later he was telling my mom about "the fish, and pig, and cow mooo" He liked going back at night better. I think the two and half hour nap he took that day helped. We go early because at night you can never be sure if the balloons are going to launch. They didn't do the night glow, but the fireworks went off! I think next year is our year, they'll do the night glow and the fireworks...third times the charm.

I think we are all going again next year. If anyone wants to come make your reservations now. It could be fun!

Albuquerque Aquarium and Zoo

We were so exhausted for the Balloon Fiesta last year that we decided to go up earlier this year. We went up late on Thursday so that we could go to the zoo on Friday. Liam is going through a shark phase right now. He has an imaginary shark that lives behind the rocking chair in his room. He talks about it all the time and occasionally tells us that a shark is hiding in "there" meaning his room. He'll say goodbye to the shark when we go anywhere. So he was super excited to see sharks.

Papa decided to come with my parents. It was so much fun to see him. I hope he comes again next year.

I'm not usually one to take pictures of the animals I see at the zoo. But I grew up going to Hogle Zoo and I don't ever remember seeing the gorillas using the equipment in their cages, or walking around for that matter. It was fun to see them up and about.

Ethan has discovered his social smile. He also laughs. It is super cute. I don't have it on tape yet, but I don't think it will take me 8 months to get it on film like it did with Liam.

Does anyone remember seeing the hippo move at Hogle Zoo? yeah, me neither.

We had a great time...but we were exhausted by the end of the day. Our "come early" plan sort of backfired.
